"No country upon earth ever had it more in its power to attain these blessings than United America. Wondrously strange, then, and much to be regretted indeed would it be, were we to neglect the means and to depart from the road which Providence has pointed us to so plainly; I cannot believe it will ever come to pass." --George Washington, letter to Benjamin Lincoln, 1788

Conservative Christians Will Give Obama Second Term  By Dave Jolly
As conservative Christian, I would love nothing more than to be able to vote for a Christian president.  I know of many other conservative Christians who feel the same way.  And because of their faith and convictions, they may well give Barack Obama a second term as president and insure the complete collapse of America.  I’ve heard a number of friends say that they will not vote for Obama or Romney because neither of them are Christian.  They either intend to vote for Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson, or a write-in candidate that is a Christian or not vote at all.  I’ve tried to explain to them that by throwing their votes to anyone other than Romney will only serve to improve Obama’s chances of winning re-election. Sadly, they counter with the statement that if all Christians voted this way, it would make a difference.  The fact is, not all Christians will vote this way and no one other than Obama or Romney stand a chance of winning the election.  Taking their votes away from Romney will only help Obama.

Obama Admits Defeat: 'You Can't Change Washington From the Inside'
Whoa, hey, wait just a second … Did I just hear President Hope and CHANGE correctly? Did President Hope and CHANGE really just say, "The most important lesson I’ve learned is that you can’t change Washington from the inside. You can only change it from the outside." Why, yes -- yes, President Hope and CHANGE really did just admit defeat.  Moreover, Obama didn't say this was something he had learned or one thing he had learned. No, Obama said this was the most important thing he's learned. In summation, the most important thing our sitting president currently running for reelection has learned is that nothing's going to change -- that all his prettified talk was just that: talk.  Later in the hour long forum, Obama was asked what has been his biggest failure as president. He did not hesitate. “As you remind me, my biggest failure is that we haven’t gotten comprehensive immigration reform done,” he said. “So we’re going to be continuing to work on that.” Are you kidding?! We’ve got millions of people unable to find work — or underemployed — a skyrocketing deficit, escalating foreign crises, lower household income than during the recession and demonstrated ineptitude in our security overseas . . . and his biggest failure is not passing an immigration package?

Antarctic Sea Ice Sets Another Record
Antarctic sea ice set another record this past week, with the most amount of ice ever recorded on day 256 of the calendar year (September 12 of this leap year). Please, nobody tell the mainstream media or they might have to retract some stories and admit they are misrepresenting scientific data.  National Public Radio (NPR) published an article on its website last month claiming, “Ten years ago, a piece of ice the size of Rhode Island disintegrated and melted in the waters off Antarctica. Two other massive ice shelves along the Antarctic Peninsula had suffered similar fates a few years before. The events became poster children for the effects of global warming. … There’s no question that unusually warm air triggered the final demise of these huge chunks of ice.”  NPR failed to mention anywhere in its article that Antarctic sea ice has been growing since satellites first began measuring the ice 33 years ago and the sea ice has been above the 33-year average throughout 2012.  Indeed, none of the mainstream media are covering this important story. A Google News search of the terms Antarctic, sea ice and record turns up not a single article on the Antarctic sea ice record. Amusingly, page after page of Google News results for Antarctic sea ice record show links to news articles breathlessly spreading fear and warning of calamity because Arctic sea ice recently set a 33-year low. Sea ice around one pole is shrinking while sea ice around another pole is growing. This sure sounds like a global warming crisis to me.

Obama Slides Taliban Lawyer Into Top Spot At Justice Department
A lawyer who came to prominence for his full-throated defense of a subsequently convicted terrorist was quietly promoted to the No. 3 slot at the Department of Justice last month, a post that puts him in charge of the administration’s policy regarding Guantanamo Bay detainees. The move has raised red flags on Capitol Hill and elsewhere among national security stalwarts who argue that the promotion could imperil the country’s longstanding war on terrorism. The Obama administration appointee at the center of the debate is Tony West, a longtime Justice Department lawyer who received national attention for his aggressive defense of John Walker Lindh, the so-called American Taliban who is currently serving 20-years in prison for colluding with al Qaeda in Afghanistan and taking up arms against U.S. troops.

Reflections on the 47%
The big questions are not in the narrative is why 47%.  What policies are driving these numbers up?  Who's policies do you believe will reverse the trend?  To be clear, not having to pay federal income tax MEANS that  you/your family are living at a subsistence level.  Who wants that? Not most people.  Another question, "Do these people really know how they got there and what it will take (by them, not taxpayer money) to pull themselves out of their plight?"  At the DNC Convention, Obama said "I'm going to tell you the truth!"  Then he proceeded not to.  A truth is the Democrats have traded "free" for votes for 40 plus years.  Many of these people have been robbed of their survival skills and even the desire to survive on their own!  "Self" has been replaced by the notion "I NEED the government to take care of me." This without any realization the growing dependency upon government is clearly unsustainable.  Why?  They have been trained to be tone deaf...they are not engaged in the discourse.  Further, even when all available data tells all citizens that this nation is on the verge of bankrupting every entitlement program they use to simply survive.  So, Romney was more right than he may have realized.  Not from an arrogant position, but from a sadness that so many citizens have "bought into" the notion they "belong to the government" and must do so in order to survive.  So if anyone wants to be angry, it would be with the Democrats that have sold many souls down the river of subsistence and government managed poverty!

Free Enterprise....The Foundation of Our Nations Prosperity
Free Enterprise is the engine behind the miracle we call the United States of America.  Millions of people took the risk, bought a one way ticket to participate in the greatest idea ever created in the world.  The opportunity to come to America with nothing but the clothes on their back to be free to pursue their dreams; the siren call heard around the world!  "You are free and free to enjoy the gains from the risks that you choose to take."  The great American experiment has always sat on the shoulders of free enterprise where individuals could invest their energy and resources in a dream, an idea or whatever they could imagine to create personal wealth.  These people succeeded or failed on their own while being free from the heavy hand of any government.  Today the golden era of free enterprise is in danger.  In today's environment, the risks are high, our too large and a too intrusive government takes away the "reward".  Free enterprise is the "goose that has produced the golden egg" of prosperity, jobs and a rugged economy.  Many do not realize that we have slipped into Democratic Socialism where elected representatives take from their constituents in order to give to those deemed needy (driven by politics, not benevolence).

Rand Paul: ‘I think the election is over. I think that Romney has already won’
On Hugh Hewitt’s radio show on Wednesday, Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul said that as far as he was concerned, Mitt Romney was already the victor over incumbent Democratic President Barack Obama. “You know, I think — I’m in the minority here, but I think the election is over,” said Paul, who was on to promote his new book “Government Bullies: How Everyday Americans Are Being Harassed, Abused, and Imprisoned by the Feds.” “I think that Romney has already won,” Paul continued. “The people really are tired of the debt. They’re tired of irresponsible leadership. I think they’re tired of having 23 million people out of work. So, I think you’ll find — and this is my prediction, and of course, I could be wrong. I am fallible.” Paul went on to tell Hewitt, who has his own recently released book, “The Brief Against Obama: The Rise, Fall & Epic Fail of the Hope & Change Presidency,” that things are lining up much like they did in the 1980 election for Ronald Reagan on the economic front, which will work in Romney’s favor.

House Votes to Reverse Obama’s Gutting of Welfare’s Work Requirements
Friday afternoon, the House voted to restore the work requirements that the Obama Administration has attempted to gut from the 1996 welfare reform law. The breakdown: 250 Republicans voted for restoration and 164 Democrats voted against the resolution. The 1996 reform inserted work requirements into the largest federal cash assistance welfare program, replacing the old Aid to Families with Dependent Children program with Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). The law was not only very popular, but it also worked: Stagnant welfare rolls declined by half within five years of the law’s implementation, employment among welfare recipients soared, and child poverty rates declined to their lowest levels in history. However, since the law was put into place, liberals have attempted to eliminate the work requirement. Not able to accomplish this goal through the legislative process, the Obama Administration is now attempting to do so through executive fiat. In July, the Administration released a directive from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announcing that states would be able to waive the law’s work requirements.  We will watch to see what the Senate and the White House does.

Was Allah Originally a Babylonian God of Violence?  By Tad Cronn
One of the first tales told to American students about Islam is that Allah, the Muslim God, is the same as Yahweh in the Bible. It’s something I never bought into even when I was a young and naive religious studies student in college. I suppose my childhood passion for medieval literature and the Crusades had inoculated me against the most egregious fantasies of Muslim propagandists. Plus, Islam is just too different from biblical religion for the alleged connection to be reasonable. Consequently, there was never a satisfactory answer for the origin of the God of Mohammed, who seemed to just spring out of the mountain cave with Mohammed’s visions and co-opt and rewrite the stories of the Bible, creating a perverted version of Judeo-Christian beliefs that calls on Muslims to convert or destroy the entire world. Author Theodore Shoebat has an interesting theory, however, and like most “a-ha!” moments, it was hiding in plain sight, apparently ignored or kept under wraps by scholars. Shoebat traces the earliest mention of Allah worship to Babylon, approximately 1700 B.C., in the “Epic of Atrahasis.” In the story told on stone tablets, a portion of the legends talks about a god named Alla, who is described as a god of “violence and revolution.”  According to Shoebat, the cult of Alla came to Mesopotamia with the Akkadians, who originally migrated from Yemen, in the south Arabian Peninsula. He further reports that there is a Sumerian inscription identifying Alla with Tammuz, who was a god of fertility and the consort of Inanna, who is identified by scholars with Ishtar, Venus, Isis and other goddess cults. The various goddess cults are frequently identified with the moon, and Tammuz was said to be an archer, both of which points may help explain the crescent symbol of Islam, if Shoebat is correct….

A Nation Without an Anchor By: Wes Moore
Today we damn the Ten Commandments of Moses, and applaud the Five Pillars of Islam. We teach astrology to our fifth graders, but ban prayer. We ridicule faithful marriage, and idolize men sleeping with men. We devalue hard work and enterprise, and exalt the free ride. And think of the fear that paralyzes us. Indeed, there is a healthy fear we must have to live in this world; there are people and organizations that should be watched at every turn and fought at all costs. But is our healthy fear turning into paranoia? We fear asteroids that may destroy the planet. We fear business, and we fear government. We fear rogue states and economic downturns and whoever is on the other side of the aisle. There’s a boogeyman behind every corner. Who will it be next? So, what’s the underlying cause of all of this? Why does the moral compass spin so wildly? Why do we have to fight for things we once all took for granted, and why are we so full of fear? Because our nation has lost its anchor. We’re like a boat once tied down to shore, but now floats aimlessly for open water. We’ve been set free to go wherever the raging waters see fit. What is the anchor we have lost? The Bible.

The Old Testament prophet Jeremiah said it like this, “Since they have rejected the word of the Lord, what kind of wisdom do they have?” (Jeremiah 8:9). And Jesus of Nazareth put it this way, “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew…yet it did not fall” (Matthew 7:24-25). We don’t know what’s right and wrong anymore because we have rejected the objective morality God has given us in his book. We fear and distrust not only because our fellow man has become more immoral and therefore more untrustworthy, but because we’ve lost the safety of trusting in God’s providence and protection, something many of our founders spoke about frequently.

"Can the liberties of a nation be sure when we remove their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people, that these liberties are a gift from God?  Thomas Jefferson
