Poll: The presidential race is tight in Pennsylvania
Two percentage points separate President Obama and Republican nominee Mitt Romney in a state poll conducted for the Tribune-Review, even though the campaigns largely are ignoring Pennsylvania and concentrating on other battlegrounds. Obama polled 47 percent to Romney's 45 percent among likely Pennsylvania voters, with 6 percent of voters undecided and 44 days until Election Day, according to the survey by Susquehanna Polling & Research. The survey of 800 voters, conducted Sept. 18-20, has a margin of error of 3.46 percentage points. The poll showed most voters are disappointed with the country’s direction, evenly split on whether Obama deserves another term and hesitant to back Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts. Fifty-one percent of the state’s voters approve of Obama’s job performance.

U.S. Move to Give Egypt $450 Million in Aid Meets Resistance By STEVEN LEE MYERS
The Obama administration notified Congress on Friday that it would provide Egypt’s new government an emergency cash infusion of $450 million, but the aid immediately encountered resistance from a prominent lawmaker wary of foreign aid and Egypt’s new course under the leadership of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Another MSNBC Scandal? Blaze Readers at Campaign Event Claim Network Misled in Video of Rally Chant (With Audio Comparison)
On Wednesday, MSNBC aired a clip of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney leading what looks like a failed “Romney-Ryan” chant at a campaign stop in Ohio on Tuesday, prompting an embarrassed Joe Scarborough to mutter “Oh, sweet Jesus” and a purse-lipped Mika Brzezinski to ask “What’s wrong with those people?” You can see our coverage of Scarborough’s outburst here, but we’ve included the clip as a refresher: One day later, while continuing the conversation on how Rep. Paul Ryan overshadows the former Massachusetts governor, MSNBC host Martin Bashir played the same clip (minus the graphic). Although the clip Bashir aired differs slightly from the one aired during “Morning Joe,” the message was the same. But now things are getting interesting. If you listen closely, it’s obvious the audio in the clip has been adjusted. However, that’s not uncommon — and that doesn‘t necessarily mean it’s MSNBC who did it. Sound technicians usually cut out the audience to ensure speakers aren’t drowned out (which you can do by simply turning the mics up and down — or you can do after the fact). However, where the controversy comes in is in the caption on the screen quoting the audience as chanting “Ryan!” Why is that controversial? Because people who attended the event say that’s not what happened, and that the MSNBC video grossly misrepresents what actually occurred. Watch the truth here

Santorum: Obama Won't Prevent Iran From Going Nuclear By: Todd Beamon and Kathleen Walter
President Barack Obama won’t stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons, former Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum charged in an exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV.  “This is the real big problem with President Obama,” the former Pennsylvania senator tells Newsmax. “He says he doesn’t want Iran to have a nuclear weapon, but he’s been very clear that he is not going to authorize any type of actions on the United States that will have any detrimental impact to civilians in Iran.  “Well, you can’t stop Iran from developing a nuclear weapon unless you take away their capability of doing so — and to do that requires taking down their electric grid, taking other things that would stop their development of this technology, which would have at least some impact on civilians.  “The president’s been very clear and his positions don’t jibe,” Santorum concluded. “You can’t say I want to stop Iran and then say I won’t do anything policy-wise that will stop Iran, and that’s why Benjamin Netanyahu has said what he said: that we have to have policies that draw a red line and this president is refusing to do it.

Obama begs defense contractors not to issue pre-election layoff notices or more likely Chicago Style Threats
The Obama administration issued new guidance intended for defense contractors Friday afternoon, reiterating the administration’s position that the companies should not be issuing layoff notices over sequestration. The Labor Department issued guidance in July saying it would be “inappropriate” for contractors to issue notices of potential layoffs tied to sequestration cuts. But a few contractors, most notably Lockheed Martin, said they still were considering whether to issue the notices — which would be sent out just days before the November election. But the Friday guidance from the Office of Management and Budget raised the stakes in the dispute, telling contractors that they would be compensated for legal costs if layoffs occur due to contract cancellations under sequestration — but only if the contractors follow the Labor guidance.

DEMOCRATS: INVESTIGATE BENGHAZI ATTACK AFTER THE ELECTION
Don’t be fooled by the supposedly bipartisan effort to investigate the Obama administration’s actions after the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya. Democrats are no more serious about challenging their leader in the White House than they have ever been.  Trying to pass off his actions as part of a bipartisan effort at investigation, Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman John Kerry (D-Mass.) started circulating a letter that his aides said would be asking for more information.  here’s the salient point, and how the Democrats are duping the public into thinking that they truly want an investigation: Kerry and his pals’ letter to Thomas Nides, deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources, is asking for more information and a full briefing after the Senate returns in November.  That’s right. After the election.

‘Obama and the Threat to Israel’: See the ‘Absolutely Uncertain’ Video That’s Gotten 650K Hits in Three Days
A roughly 20-minute YouTube video analyzing President Obama’s relationship with Israel, narrated by a 23-year-old former Obama supporter, has gone viral.  In just three days, the little-reported on video “Absolutely Uncertain” has logged roughly 650,000 hits. Irina, the 23-year-old “Jewish New Yorker” who narrates much of the documentary, explains that she has always seen American-Israeli relations as a cornerstone of American politics, reaching into both parties. “So when it was time for me to vote for the first time in 2008, I didn’t doubt for a moment that the strong relationship would continue, no matter who won,” she states. Adding that many of her fellow students also had “confidence” in President Obama, Irina explains that the more she learns about politics and the Middle East, the more she doubts President Obama‘s ready commitments to Israel’s security. “I don’t know how many people realize this, but today, Israelis are lining up for gas masks and cleaning out their bomb shelters,” Irina begins. On Obama’s promises that Iran will be stopped and the Middle East is becoming more “democratic,” the young woman simply says: “I’m not sure I believe it anymore.”  Click Here

These are the Top 5 Worst Taxes ‘Obamacare’ Will Impose in 2013  by Becket Adams
1. The ‘Obamacare’ Medical Device Tax Tax Increase: $20 Billion Medical device manufacturers employ 409,000 people in 12,000 plants across the country. Obamacare imposes a new 2.3 percent excise tax on gross sales
2. The ‘Obamacare’ ‘Special Needs Kids Tax’ Tax Increase: $13 Billion  The 30-35 million American who use a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) at work to pay for their family’s basic medical needs will face a new government cap of $2,500 (currently the accounts are unlimited under federal law, though employers are allowed to set a cap).
There is one group of FSA owners for whom this new cap will be particularly cruel and onerous: parents of special needs children.
3. The ‘Obamacare’ Surtax on Investment Income. Tax Increase: $123 Billion  This is a new, 3.8 percentage point surtax on investment income earned in households making at least $250,000 ($200,000 single).
4. The ‘Obamacare’ ‘Haircut’ for Medical Itemized Deductions Tax Increase: $15.2 Billion  Currently, those Americans facing high medical expenses are allowed a deduction to the extent that those expenses exceed 7.5 percent of adjusted gross income (AGI).  This tax increase imposes a threshold of 10 percent of AGI. By limiting this deduction, Obamacare widens the net of taxable income for the sickest Americans.  This tax provision will most harm near retirees and those with modest incomes but high medical bills.
5. The ‘Obamacare’ Medicare Payroll Tax Hike; Tax Increase: $86.8 Billion The Medicare payroll tax is currently 2.9 percent on all wages and self-employment profits.  Under this tax hike, wages and profits exceeding $200,000 ($250,000 in the case of married couples) will face a 3.8 percent rate instead. This is a direct marginal income tax hike on small business owners, who are liable for self-employment tax in most cases.

The good news is that the number of Americans who believe today’s children will be better off than their parents is at its highest level of 2012. The bad news is that three-out-of-four Americans don't agree or aren't sure.  A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of American Adults shows that 23% believe today’s children will be better off than their parents. Fifty-nine percent (59%) disagree, and 18% are undecided.

Obama Administration Caught Deleting State Dept. Memo After Benghazi Attack
Yesterday there were reports that the Obama Administration found out that Al-Qaeda was behind the Benghazi consulate attacks within 24 hours of the assault that killed four Americans. So what was their first action? Did they secure the compound? – No, that took over a week to get FBI agents to the consulate Did they acknowledge it was an Al-Qaeda attack? No, Obama this week blamed the terror attack on a YouTube protest. Here’s what they did – They scrubbed a damning State Department memo from the internet– On Wednesday September 12, 2012 blogger Speak With Authority discovered that five days before 9-11, the US State Department sent out a memo announcing no credible security threats against the United States on the anniversary of 9-11. The Overseas Security Advisory Council, who posted the memo, is part of the Bureau of Diplomatic Security under the U.S. Department of State. Here is a "screengrab" of the memo at the OSAC website:

Former SEALS Rip Obama: Attacks A Global Catastrophe, Not Bumps In The Road by Tim Brown
Barack Obama is coming under a massive assault from former Navy SEALS in regards to his recent statements about the turmoil, attacks, and deaths in the Middle East, including the deaths of two former Nayy SEALS, as “bumps in the road.”  Tyrone S. Woods and Glen A. Doherty, both retired Navy SEALS with distinguished careers, were two of those among the dead when the U.S. consulate was attacked on September 11, 2012. Both men were providing security to Ambassador Chris Stevens, who was also killed in the attacks, via the private security firm they worked for. Former SEAL and current Montana State Senator Ryan Zinke issued the following statement as His super PAC website, Special Operations for America (SOFA): "The President refuses to admit that his policy of appeasement and apology has failed. The murder of our Ambassador and two former Navy SEALs is more than a “bump in the road,” it is a global catastrophe where America is seen as being weak and vulnerable by our enemies. This President has failed to establish a red line for Iran’s nuclear ambitions and has failed to recognize the scale and implications of the attacks against us. Reagan had it right: don’t negotiate with terrorists and recognize the clear and present danger of not being willing to act or lead from the front."

85% of Americans Reject Darwinism by Gary North
The Darwinists have failed in the United States. They have controlled the colleges since at least 1885. They have controlled the public schools, K-12, since at least 1925. What has it gotten them? Not much. Around 85% of Americans reject Darwinism, according to a Gallup poll. The poll’s summary: Forty-six percent of Americans believe in the creationist view that God created humans in their present form at one time within the last 10,000 years. The prevalence of this creationist view of the origin of humans is essentially unchanged from 30 years ago, when Gallup first asked the question. About a third of Americans believe that humans evolved, but with God’s guidance; 15% say humans evolved, but that God had no part in the process.

60% of Americans Don’t Trust the Mainstream Media Written by Gary North
What’s that? You say you don’t trust the mainstream media? You are not alone. A Gallup poll reveals that 60% of Americans say they don’t trust the MSM. This percentage is rising. Prior to 2004, Americans were more trusting of the MSM than now. Before 2004 in presidential election years, trust was higher. In the 1970s, it was 72%. The decline this year is heaviest in Republican circles. Only 26% trust the MSM. Among independents, it is not much higher: 31%. But Republicans were equally distrustful in 2008. The big decline has come among independents. In September 2008, 43% of Americans said they were paying attention to national politics. Today, it is 39%.

O'Reilly: Mitt Romney will win the election -- here's why
This is my firm and final theory then -- it is also my first incidentally -- on why I think Mitt Romney will be the next president of the United States:
Romney will win because Barack Obama has not done a good enough job. That's it. Call it the Obama-Occam's Razor Theory if you want to dress it up -- the simplest explanation is usually the right one -- or the Homer Simpson "D'oh!" Theory, which I much prefer. But either way, the result on Nov. 6 should be predictable. Most Americans think the country is in trouble and headed more deeply into it rather than out of it, so come Election Day they will replace the current White House occupant with the well-qualified challenger. Clint Eastwood said this best at the Republican National Convention in Tampa (when he wasn't talking to the chair): "Politicians are employees of ours," the "Unforgiven" actor and director said. "And when somebody does not do the job, we got to let 'em go."

Egyptian President Advocates Limiting US Freedom of Speech
If it wasn’t enough that Barack Obama has not been going after the First Amendment enough at the United Nations yesterday, Egyptian President and Muslim Brotherhood member Mohammed Morsi spoke in New York to lecture the United States on Freedom of Speech and guess which side he comes down on. That’s right, he wants to limit it too. Morsi told the New York Times that his government would become more independent from the US. Good. That should mean we should stop sending them any foreign aid with our tax dollars. In fact, we should stop regardless of their independence. “Successive American administrations essentially purchased with American taxpayer money the dislike, if not the hatred, of the peoples of the region,” he told the paper in the interview published late Saturday, drawing a clear distinction between the American government and the American people. Those administrations “have taken a very clear biased approach against something that (has) very strong emotional ties to the people of the region that is the issue of Palestine.”  For those of you that still think the U.N. is in this country's best interest, this should stop you in your tracks!

Cover Up: U.S. Knew Al-Qaeda Behind Libya Attack Within 24 Hours
What we have here is nothing more than a scandalous White House cover up and Obama’s Media Palace Guards so terrified of Obama losing, they refuse to give it the coverage it demands, the attention it deserves, or to make Obama pay a political price for his role and responsibility. According to Eli Lake, 24 hours after the assassination of Libyan Ambassador Chris Stevens, and a four full days before Obama sent UN Ambassador Susan Rice out to all the Sunday shows to blame what happened on a protest gone bad over a YouTube video, the American government had already concluded al-Qaeda was behind the attack: Within 24 hours of the 9-11 anniversary attack on the United States consulate in Benghazi, U.S. intelligence agencies had strong indications al Qaeda–affiliated operatives were behind the attack, and had even pinpointed the location of one of those attackers. Three separate U.S. intelligence officials who said the early information was enough to show that the attack was planned and the work of al Qaeda affiliates operating in Eastern Libya. … The intelligence officials who spoke did so anonymously because they weren’t authorized to speak to the press. They said U.S. intelligence agencies developed leads on four of the participants of the attacks within 24 hours of the fire fight that took place mainly at an annex near the Benghazi consulate. For one of those individuals, the U.S. agencies were able to find his location after his use of social media. “We had two kinds of intelligence on one guy,” this official said. “We believe we had enough to target him.

Santelli on GDP Numbers: 'Depressingly Weak'  By DANIEL HALPER
New durable goods orders in August fell by the most since the recession and a separate reading on the broader U.S. economy came in much weaker than expected. But weekly jobless claims sank to a two-month low, in a hopeful sign for the labor market. New orders for long-lasting U.S. manufactured goods in August fell by the most in 3 1/2 years, pointing to a sharp slowdown in factory activity even as a gauge of planned business spending rebounded.  The Commerce Department said on Thursday durable goods orders dived 13.2 percent, the largest drop since January 2009, when the economy was in the throes of a recession. Orders for July were revised down to show a 3.3 percent increase instead of the previously reported 4.1 percent gain.

Isakson to Newsmax: Obama Misled America on Libya Attack
The Obama White House is finally admitting that the attack on the Libyan consulate that killed four Americans was a terrorist act because “people kept calling for the truth,” Georgia Sen. Johnny Isakson tells Newsmax.TV.  “People kept calling for the truth and, in the end, the administration realized that what they had tried to put together – blaming it on this movie and having it as a spontaneous act rather as being a terrorist act – wasn’t going to sell because it obviously wasn’t true,” Isakson, a Republican member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, tells Newsmax in an exclusive interview. “I don’t understand the motivation to do that unless they didn’t want to have a terrorist attack against a United States’ sovereign territory on their watch, but that’s what happened. The truth ought to be what comes out and not some scenario they want to people to believe." Isakson and fellow GOP committee member, Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker, are demanding the release of the final cables of murdered U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens as well as answers from the State Department about the Sept. 11 attacks in Libya.

Senators Demand Answers: Why Did Susan Rice Insist Video Caused Benghazi Attack? By Patrick Goodenough
As more senior administration officials use the word “terrorism” in describing the deadly September 11 attack on the U.S. consulate in Libya, Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice’s repeated insistence five days later that the incident was a “spontaneous reaction” to an obscure anti-Islam video continues to draw scrutiny and criticism. Fox News reports that administration officials knew within 24 hours that the Benghazi attack was terrorism.
~~~~~~
Benghazi-Gate: New Evidence White House Lied About Libya Terror Attack
Yesterday, we learned that within 24 hours of the event that the Obama Administration itself designated the attack on our Libyan consulate as a terrorist attack. And yet, days later, Obama would trot U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice out to all the Sunday shows to look the media and America in the eye with the wildly false story that the attack had been a protest over a YouTube video gone awry; a story Obama most certainly knew wasn’t true:
Intelligence sources said that the Obama administration internally labeled the attack terrorism from the first day in order to unlock and mobilize certain resources to respond, and that officials were looking for one specific suspect. The sources said the intelligence community knew by Sept. 12 that the militant Ansar al-Shariah and Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb were likely behind the strike.
Further, an official said, “No one … believed that the mortars, indirect and direct fire, and the RPGs were just the work of a mob — no one.”  And it wasn’t just Ambassador Rice telling us something our government knew wasn’t true. As this timeline proves, it was also White House spokesman Jay Carney, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and the President himself.
Fox News poll: 79 percent say all Americans should pay income taxes By Dana Blanton
A large majority of likely voters believes all Americans should pay some federal income tax -- even if it is as little as one percent of what they make.  Seventy-nine percent say everyone should pay something, according to a Fox News poll released Thursday.  That includes 85 percent of Republicans, 83 percent of independents and 71 percent of Democrats. According to the IRS, last year approximately 41 percent of tax filers did not pay federal income tax.  The Tax Policy Center estimates that will increase to 46 percent this year.
Claims of U.S. Intelligence Officials Make Obama a Liar
It is important to read this piece with the knowledge that President Obama, in his first 1,225 days in office, skipped 56 percent of his daily intelligence briefings. And so far, this year alone he has skipped 62 percent of those meetings. The media likes to adoringly point out the unprecedented aspects of this presidency, so I’m sure they will draw attention to this fact in no time. Of course the reason for blaming the video has nothing to do with reality and everything to do with finding a scapegoat for Obama’s failed Middle East policy of apologizing for America and appeasing Islamists.  Now that you know how neglectful Obama has been of these intelligence briefings, I can proceed. We have been hearing repeatedly from this administration that, against all common sense, the cause of the violence in the Middle East that exploded on September 11 two weeks ago and killed four Americans was merely the manifestation of hurt feelings over a 14-minute anti-Islam video posted months and months ago on YouTube. Now today, in an interview with NBC’s Ann Curry, Libyan President Mohamed Magarief has made a fool of President Obama: he stated that the attacks on the US embassy in Libya had “nothing to do with” the video and that it was a pre-planned act of terror. When pressed by Curry to detail his evidence for this, he said he could not because the investigation was still underway, but he assured Curry that so far, all the evidence discovered shows that it was an attack planned by al-Qaeda.
People Died, Obama Lied
People died, Obama lied. That’s the best summary of what has happened since Sept. 11, when terrorists (yes, terrorists) attacked the U.S. consulate in Libya, killing four Americans and the U.S. Ambassador, while terrorist sympathizers swarmed the U.S. embassy in Cairo.   The Obama administration insisted–though it knew otherwise–that the attacks were provoked by an anti-Islam film made in the U.S. by a Coptic Christian. Worse, the Obama administration inflamed the supposed outrage over the film by telling the world that the U.S. condemned it and was not responsible for it–even buying airtime on Pakistani television to broadcast that apologetic message. It also sent a signal that American principles of free expression were up for negotiation by suggesting that free speech did not include the right to insult other people’s religions, and Islam in particular. Now, as new details emerge every day about what the Obama administration knew and when, it is clear that President Barack Obama lied shamelessly to the American people about a terror attack that claimed American lives.
Voter ID Controversy: Liberal Nonsense by David L. Goetsch
Liberals claim that asking voters to show some form of identification before casting their ballots is an unwarranted infringement on their rights, and that doing so discriminates against the poor.  Conservatives counter that by opposing voter ID laws liberals are just trying to make it easier for unregistered voters, illegal immigrants, and dead people to vote—a campaign strategy long favored by Chicago Democrats and used with alacrity by LBJ.
·        While jotting down notes for this article, I was sitting at the take-out station of a local restaurant waiting to pick up my lunch.  The man ahead of me used a credit card to pay for his meal, but first he was asked to show a picture ID. I stopped by a well-known fitness center for a workout.  The visitor’s pass cost me $15, which I paid in cash.  As I walked toward the locker room, the cashier yelled after me: “Sir, I will need to see a picture ID.” I stopped by my bank recently to cash a check.  I have banked with this institution for almost 40 years and am well known to its personnel.  To cash my check, I was required to present a picture ID.  Picking up a rental car, checking into a hotel room, purchasing a new cell phone, registering for a college course, requesting a college transcript, picking a young child up from school during the school day—all of these transactions require a picture ID.  These are just a few examples I am familiar with.  I am sure there are more. Now, consider the examples in this column and—with the exception of picking a child up from school—ask yourself this question: Which of these transactions is more important than voting?  Having done so, conservatives can then ask the obvious question: If Americans have to show IDs in  these mundane situations, why not when they vote? Then ask a liberal the same question.
