Liberals
(and conservatives) say the dumbest things. The latest comes
from White House spokesman Jay Carney. The topic was cuts in SNAP, the
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program:
“These
cuts come at a time when many hardworking American families are still
struggling to make ends meet in the wake of the worst recession in decades and
last year the additional resources provided by the SNAP lifted 7 million people
out of poverty. . . . That is why the president acknowledged this need when he
proposed an extension of the Recovery Act adjustment through 2014 or until
March 2014 in his 2014 budget request and why the strategy currently under way
in the House to reduce SNAP by removing millions of low income families from
the program does not make sense.” He went on to say that “SNAP is the most
effective way of to combat hunger and food insecurity.”
Actually,
a growing economy is the best way to combat hunger.

Even
now that it's been definitively shown that President Obama knew the first time
he said "you can keep your coverage" that he was speaking falsely,
the media are covering up the real numbers for him.
White
House spokesman Jay Carney on Tuesday tried to weasel out of the issue by
dismissing the wave of Obamacare-caused insurance cancellations as just the
normal routine, only affecting people who buy insurance on their own, a
"mere" 5 percent of Americans.
"That’s
the universe we’re talking about, 5 percent of the population," said
Carney. "In some of the coverage of this issue in the last several days,
you would think that you were talking about 75 percent or 80 percent or 60
percent of the American population."
But
the Administration knows better than that, and what's more, they
knew it when the law first passed. The Affordable Care Act has some
provisions for "grandfathering" in existing policies that don't meet
the new regulations, but those provisions go away at the end of the year. "The
Departments’ mid-range estimate is that 66 percent of small employer plans and
45 percent of large employer plans will relinquish their grandfather status by
the end of 2013," the Administration wrote on page 34,552 of the
Federal Register back in 2010.

The
Freedom From Religion Foundation has started a new ad campaign pushing atheism
as the foundation for all of life. Of course, the ad campaign doesn't say that
a person should murder, rape, or steal, but there's nothing within the context
of "Enjoy Life Now" that says a person can't given atheistic
assumptions.
A
Wisconsin man is funding the new billboard campaign as a “legacy for my
grandchildren.” Some legacy if followed consistently.
The
message on the 10-by-30 foot billboard is straight forward in its advocacy of
atheism:
“Enjoy
Life Now. There Is No Afterlife.”
I’m no
atheist, but I’m enjoying life now. The existence of God does not mean a person
can’t or doesn’t enjoy life. But without God and in a world where only matter
matters, there is no basis for moral absolutes. At death, the most
"moral" atheist is no better or worse than Adolf Hitler since there
is no one to judge at death.

Yes,
Obama lied, but that's OK! Have you read how nearly everybody in the media and
among Democrats are making excuses for President Obama about his promise that
we could keep our insurance if we want to? It’s insane, but expected.
Some
have argued that Obama needed to lie in order to get the Affordable Care Act passed.
If he hadn’t lied, we would not have ObamaCare today. Actually, every proposed
government program is based on a lie.
One of
the most disingenuous excuses for Obama’s big lie is the claim that most
Americans don’t know what’s good for them so they need government to intervene
can care for them with other people’s money.
The
liberal argument goes something like this, as Matt Lewis at the Daily Caller
describes governmental paternalism:

Obama’s insurance vow
was always flawed
by Calvin Woodward - Associated Press
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama’s soothing promise that Americans happy with their health insurance could simply keep it was doomed from the start, and everyone familiar with the market seemed to recognize that except the president.
Even his aides said four years ago, early in the huge push for his health care law that he wasn’t to be taken literally on that point.
