Senate Democrats UNANIMOUSLY Voted To
Kill The Insurance Plan You Liked
By Mark Horne
Senate Democrats
voted unanimously three years ago to support the Obamacare rule that is largely
responsible for some of the health insurance cancellation letters that are
going out. In September 2010, Senate Republicans brought a
resolution to the floor to block implementation of the grandfather rule, warning
that it would result in canceled policies and violate President Barack Obama’s
promise that people could keep their insurance if they liked it.
“The District of
Columbia is an island surrounded by reality. Only in the District of Columbia
could you get away with telling the people if you like what you have you can
keep it, and then pass regulations six months later that do just
the opposite and figure that people
are going to ignore it.
“The administrations'
own regulations prove this is not the case. Under the grandfathering
regulation, according to the White House's own economic impact analysis, as
many as 69 percent of businesses will lose their grandfathered status by 2013
and be forced to buy government-approved plans,”. Back in September 2010 Chuck Grassley
tried to save Obama’s reputation (not his intention; he was trying to help
Americans but Obama would have benefitted), and the Democrats were blind and
deaf to reality.
CNN is on record: it was ALL
Democrats! It wasn’t just Obama and Sebelius, or just the Executive Branch. All
Democratic Senators signed off on this.
We live in interesting times. We
live in times of great hope
because the image of omnipotent, Omni-competent, trustworthy government is
being tarnished beyond repair. It was almost always an illusion. This
means rules like, “Once an entitlement is established it can never be repealed”
is going into the dustbin with rules like, “Real estate has never lost more
than five percent of its value,” or “A nuclear power will never default”
(Russia ended that one in the nineties). We really are reaching the cusp
of getting to repeal the twentieth century and liberate the twenty-first from
its cold dead grasp.
We live in times of
great fear because, if we can’t trust politicians to at least do things that
aren’t obviously destructive to their own fortunes, what can we expect of them
in the future? What are the limits? It seems our ruling class is a blind, arrogant,
boastful group of wounded brutes, thrashing about and causing whatever damage
they can. It is a dangerous situation.
All I can say is we have to trust God for the future and try to surf
the waves of destruction as best we can. And in the meantime, remember: The
Senate Democrats did it! ALL OF THEM.
