Pope Francis assures atheists: You don’t have to believe
in God to go to heaven by Michael Day
In comments likely to enhance his progressive
reputation, Pope Francis has written a long, open letter to the founder of La
Repubblica newspaper, Eugenio Scalfari, stating that non-believers would be forgiven by God if they followed
their consciences. Responding to a list of questions published in the
paper by Mr Scalfari, who is not a Roman Catholic, Francis wrote: “You ask me if the God of the Christians
forgives those who don’t believe and who don’t seek the faith. I start by
saying – and this is the fundamental thing – that God’s mercy has no limits if
you go to him with a sincere and contrite heart. The issue for those who do not
believe in God is to obey their conscience. “Sin, even for those who have no
faith, exists when people disobey their conscience.”
Robert Mickens, the Vatican correspondent for the
Catholic journal The Tablet, said the pontiff’s comments were further
evidence of his attempts to shake off the Catholic Church’s dusty image,
reinforced by his extremely conservative predecessor Benedict XVI. “Francis is
a still a conservative,” said Mr Mickens. “But what this is all about is him
seeking to have a more meaningful dialogue with the world.”
In a welcoming response to the letter, Mr Scalfari
said the Pope’s comments were “further evidence of his ability and desire to
overcome barriers in dialogue with all”. In July, Francis signalled a more
progressive attitude on sexuality, asking: “If someone is gay and is looking
for the Lord, who am I to judge him?”
For those of you that are reading this, I don't mean
to offend you. All we know about God is
in the Bible. The Bible very clearly
states.
Matthew 12:31-32: “And I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven
men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Anyone who
speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks
against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age
to come.” The Catholic dogma of the infallibility of the Pope just
got shattered.
"The
word itself means exactly what the dictionary tells us, “incapability of error
or deception.” Interestingly enough, no person on the face of the earth,
except the Vicar of Christ, would dare insist on such a prerogative of office,
and get away with it. Non-Catholics are constrained by force of truth to
reverence the man who claims to speak for Jesus Christ on earth, whether they
accept his authority or not. No matter how great a leader, in his own realm,
the head of any false religion might be, he would be laughed to scorn if he
ever had the audacity to claim that his solemn words were guaranteed protection
from error by God Himself. The head of the Roman Catholic Church maintains
such; and he is not laughed to scorn, though he is hated by many; rather, he is
treated quite seriously wherever he goes. And no matter how proud certain
heads of state might be, they suddenly become a little less sure of themselves
when awaiting a papal audience in the Vatican. The atmosphere of authority, a
divine atmosphere, is overwhelming, as many non-Catholics have testified." - The Infallibility of the Pope — Basic Facts
About an Essential Dogma: Catholicism
So,
we have the Pope directly opposing the words of Christ in Mathew:12.
Who do you believe?

More Than 9 in 10 Americans Continue to Believe in God - by Frank Newport
Professed belief is lower among younger Americans, Easterners, and liberals. More than 9 in 10 Americans still say "yes" when asked the basic question "Do you believe in God?"; this is down only slightly from the 1940s, when Gallup first asked this question. Despite the many changes that have rippled through American society over the last 6 ½ decades, belief in God as measured in this direct way has remained high and relatively stable. Gallup initially used this question wording in November 1944, when 96% said "yes." That percentage dropped to 94% in 1947, but increased to 98% in several Gallup surveys conducted in the 1950s and 1960s. Gallup stopped using this question format in the 1960s, before including it again in Gallup's May 5-8 survey this year. In 1976, Gallup began using a slightly different question format to measure belief in a deity -- "Do you believe in God or a universal spirit?" -- and found that 94% of Americans agreed. That percentage stayed fairly steady through 1994, and is at 91% in the May 2011 survey.

U.S. military confirms rebels had sarin F. Michael Maloof
Classified
document shows deadly weapon found in home of arrested Islamists
As part of the Obama administration’s repeated
insistence – though without offering proof – that the recent sarin gas attack
near Damascus was the work of the Assad regime, the administration has
downplayed or denied the possibility that al-Qaida-linked Syrian rebels could
produce deadly chemical weapons. However, in a classified document just
obtained by WND, the U.S. military confirms that sarin was confiscated earlier
this year from members of the Jabhat al-Nusra Front, the most influential of
the rebel Islamists fighting in Syria. The document says sarin from al-Qaida in
Iraq made its way into Turkey and that while some was seized, more could have
been used in an attack last March on civilians and Syrian military soldiers in
Aleppo. The document, classified
Secret/Noforn – “Not for foreign distribution” – came from the U.S. intelligence
community’s National Ground Intelligence Center, or NGIC, and was made
available to WND Tuesday. It
revealed that AQI had produced a “bench-scale” form of sarin in Iraq and then
transferred it to Turkey. The May 2013
seizure occurred when Turkish security forces discovered a two-kilogram
cylinder with sarin gas while searching homes of Syrian militants from the
al-Qaida-linked Jabhat al-Nusra Front following their initial detention.

Putin Now in Charge?
This is getting
embarrassing as America becomes a laughing stock around the world. President
Obama and members of Congress suddenly find themselves waiting on the gadfly of
the world stage to call their next move in America’s foreign policy — Vladimir
Putin, who until now was derided as the obstacle to an international solution
on the Syria crisis. The head-spinning turn of events has many lawmakers
worried, openly voicing concern that the Russians are in control, and that they
and the Assad regime are not the most trustworthy deal makers. Waiting in the
wings is Secretary of State John Kerry, who will travel Thursday to Geneva to
meet with his Russian counterpart, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Members of the Syrian opposition have also
warned any deal that has Syrian President Bashar Assad turn over his chemical
weapons would not stop him from using conventional weapons to keep fighting
Syria’s bloody civil war. Uh,
that has killed nearly 100,000 people.

AFL-CIO Vote Slams Obamacare: It Will Drive Up Costs
The AFL-CIO
is ramping up pressure on the Obama administration to change parts of the
health care overhaul law that could impair benefits for millions of union
members. The nation's largest labor
federation approved a strongly worded resolution on Wednesday that says the
Affordable Care Act will drive up the costs of union-sponsored health plans to
the point that workers and employers are forced to abandon them. Some
individual unions have complained about the law's impact for months, but the
resolution marks the first time the AFL-CIO has gone on record embracing that
view. It comes from one of the president's major boosters just as the
administration is rolling out a multimillion-dollar advertising campaign to
encourage Americans to sign up for health care exchanges starting Oct. 1.
Unions were among the most enthusiastic backers of
the law when it passed in 2010. The resolution says labor unions still support
its overall goals of reducing health costs and bringing coverage to all
Americans, but it complains that the law is being implemented in a way that is
"highly disruptive" to union plans. Harold Schaitberger, president of
the International Association of Firefighters, said the intent is to "point
out the criticisms without being overly caustic." "There have to be some changes made in the areas that are giving a
number of our unions great concern," said Schaitberger, who chaired the
committee that hammered out the resolution's language. The resolution
was approved at the AFL-CIO's
quadrennial convention in Los Angeles. It claims the new law will increase
costs for health plans that are jointly administered by unions and smaller
employers in the construction, retail and transportation industries. That could
encourage employers to hire fewer union workers or to abandon the health plans
altogether and force union members to seek lower quality coverage on the new
health exchanges.
"We will do
whatever is within our power to ensure that the administration does not once
again provide a special exemption to unions at the expense of American
taxpayers," Michigan Rep. Dave Camp and Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch wrote in a
letter this week to Treasury Secretary Jack Lew. Camp is chairman of the House
Ways and Means Committee and Hatch is top Republican on the Senate Finance
Committee.

State
Department Still Refusing to Allow Oversight Committee Interviews of Benghazi
Witnesses Katie
Pavlich
The State Department, under the direction of
Secretary of State John Kerry, is still refusing to provide requested Benghazi
eyewitnesses to the House Oversight Committee for interviews about what
happened one year ago today. Yesterday,
Chairman Darrell Issa sent a letter to Kerry stressing the only people who can
provide a full picture of the 9/11 terror attack are witnesses who survived.
“The survivors of the attacks are the only people who can give testimony to the Committee about what happened on the ground in Benghazi,” Issa wrote in the letter. “Details provided by the survivors will not only help the Committee determine what took place during the attack, but will also help the Committee and other interested parties determine ways to prevent future tragedies.”
A request was made by the Oversight Committee on August 14, 2013 for transcribed interviews with Benghazi survivors. The State Department responded on August 23 by saying it was "not prepared to provide witnesses for those interviews." The Accountability Review Board [ARB] has interviewed Benghazi witnesses Issa is requesting. "The ARB considered the surviving eyewitnesses to the attack to be part of a 'core group' of witnesses," Issa said. "Furthermore, the ARB recommended that the Department establish a panel of outside independent experts to identify best practices and evaluate security issues at diplomatic posts around the world. That panel, chaired by former U.S. Secret Service Director Mark Sullivan, enjoyed the Department's full support, with unfettered access to documents and personnel. The panel met with over 200 people, including at least one individual whom the Department is now refusing to make available to the Committee."
It is suspected the State Department has allowed witnesses to speak to the media for interviews. Issa's letter cites a recent article in Vanity Fair in which great details are described regarding the Benghazi attack, including "details that only persons who survived the attack could possibly know." Fox News has also been able to get in contact with some of the witnesses. "The State Department has further restricted the Committee's access to these witnesses, claiming that they must be insulated from congressional investigators as they 'would very likely be witnesses in any criminal proceedings relating to the Benghazi attacks,'" Issa said. "The Department's claims that it needs to 'insulate' witnesses 'from any perception of political accountability in fulfilling their responsibilities' actually creates the impression that the Department is exerting its own political influence to prevent survivors from speaking to Congress."
President Obama pledged to cooperate with Congress after the attack as did Secretary Kerry. "The State Department has not lived up to these unequivocal commitments to 'provide answers.' Instead, the Department has attempted to limit the Committee's access to important documents and information, including witnesses such as the Benghazi survivors." Issa is demanding Kerry provide interviews with witnesses by September 24 or be issued subpoenas.

Russian Paper: “Once Drug Addict Obama Cannot Fight
Against Vladimir Putin”
How many people could ever have thought of Barack
Obama making a statement that he was going to send missiles into any country,
much less Syria? Then we have to ask why has he gone from a roaring lion to a
paper tiger? Obama was going to attack first and ask questions later, he was
drawing the line in the sand, yet when
time came and that line was allegedly crossed, like a school yard bully, he
says “That was the world’s red line, I never did that!” Now that we
have seen the United States snickered at and in some places laughed at like the
Rodeo Clown Obama and his friends demeaned, we see a man that is lost and has
no way out. Just what does Russia
think of him? They laugh as if Obama is the clown, and he is not in any sort of
rodeo! Should anyone wonder just what some, if not all the people of Russia and
maybe the world, think of Obama right now?
All we have to do is look at recent articles about
Obama in the Pravda paper, which is a Russian publication. The following
commentary comes from just one of many articles popping up all over Russia and
the world especially after Obama drew the “red line,” then another and then another!
The following words are from Xavier Lerma:
"Even though the US thinks they
are in charge of humanity the reality is they are not. In their imaginary world
the toothless media supports their spit ball shooting president. They actually
think their words are supreme and final. Kerry and McCain keep dancing in a
parade trying to influence a congress which is neither conservative nor moral
but nevertheless war weary. The once drug addict now US leader cannot fight
against Vladimir Putin who brought Russia from poverty in the 90′s to a more
stable economy today. Obama’s buffoonery selling the war against Syria has hit
a wall thanks to President Putin’s firm stance and leadership. Focusing on war
instead of a trillion dollar debt, Obama’s forte is to spread chaos not only in
America but in the world. Like a fire bug his wake has left North Africa
burning and he now supports terrorists the US once fought against. Bush once
said that when Obama got into office that Barry would have to do the same and
continue fighting in the Middle East. “Mr. I’ll bring home the troops next
summer” has broken that promise and kept his “YES WE CAN start more wars”
pledge. As they say in America, “he’s Bush on steroids”.
With just these words, the United States looks like a 3rd world nation rather than a leading
nation. But this is just what the Marxist Obama wanted as he laid claim
to being a staunch Marxist while he sat below the huge painting of Karl Marx
and not just studied Karl Marx, but also wished he could direct a nation into
oblivion like Karl Marx did! Yes Obama
did say that many times while at Occidental College in California! Now he sits
down when Putin talks and he listens like a good little school boy should, but
why not, after all this is just what he had hoped for while studying Marxism in
California! Now let us continue on with this article and see just what
Obama is thought of outside of our nation where he should be respected!
“Although US public opinion is against
another war the Bush haters will not protest Obama’s wars. I guess their feet
hurt or Soros ran out of money. Code Pink went home to bake cookies or those in
charge feel nothing can stop them now. Well, Putin is still in charge of the
Middle East. The blood thirsty west can only grind its teeth, wail and scream,
writhe in agony, spitting out lies, threats and accusations against Russia.
Like Hitler and Napoleon, they will also meet their end. Russia, who has slain
its Red Dragon (Communism) long ago, is now facing Puff the Magic Dragon.
Blowing smoke in his people’s eyes and spreading democracy with bombs. Magic
that cannot fight against the truth. Puff must face reality and will try to
save face. He will blame the Republicans who stand in his way and his
worshipers will pity and love him. Playing the race card once again will bring
more power to his throne. The Saudi King whom Obama bowed to and Bush kissed
will try again and again. Demanding Obama attack Syria. Trying to bribe Putin
or threatening Russia with terrorists. He cannot let Russia, the largest country
and the number one oil and gas producer, stand in their way. They want the
world coming to them for oil and they know Russia will become more powerful in
the future supplying Europe, China and other major countries. The Saudis must
have complete control of the Middle East now before it’s too late.”
"Forgotten or ignored by the west
are the Christian men and women of Russia who prayed, suffered and died for
today's free and united Russia. Last century they were attacked by Hell itself
yet they endured and rebuilt Christ's Church. Over 58 Million were killed in
Communist Russia but the Faith survived. It is one of the greatest miracles in
world history. The western media prefers to shriek like spoiled brats against
Putin. "Evil dictator!" they shout, while they themselves have
rejected the Holy Spirit and proudly wear the seal of the Antichrist. They
laugh but God is not mocked. Christ is Victorious in Russia where homosexuality
is still a sin; blasphemy a crime; where crosses and holy images are in public
view. A renewed faith in Christ our King has become our fortress. This is the
wall Putin stands on and the wall that will cause Obama's fall."
We should read this as a
lesson learned, we should never vote another person into the office of
President who only has experience as a "community organizer" because
a local community is much smaller and different than a world of people. We should
also make a note that in this article openly called Obama a "liar,"
something we have openly referred to Obama as, yet few seem to have noticed. Perhaps now that another country
is making this statement, someone may well take heed and check out just what
has he lied about.

The anti-war President!!
Twelve years ago, nineteen al Qaeda terrorists hijacked
four U.S. commercial airliners and flew them into the World Trade Towers, the
Pentagon and a field in Pennsylvania. In the war that Congress authorized
against al Qaeda only three days after that attack, the vast majority of the U.S. casualties have occurred in the last four
and a half years during the presidency of Barack Obama. In fact,
according to the CNSNews.com database of U.S. casualties in Afghanistan, 73
percent of all U.S. Afghan War casualties have occurred since Jan. 20, 2009
when Obama was inaugurated.
