My dad used to tell me, “In this country, you will be able to accomplish all the things we never could.” He and my mom emigrated from Cuba to America to give us a better life. They believed in American exceptionalism, the promise of America.

America was founded on the principle that every person has God-given rights; power belongs to the people; and government exists to protect our rights. We shouldn’t be trapped by the circumstances of our birth -- we should be free to go as far as our talents and work can take us. In America, we’re united not by a common race or ethnicity -- but by common values. This election’s about preserving those values and applying the founding principles to solve the challenges of our time.

With Election Day 3 weeks away, every effort made takes us one step closer to victory. In 2012, volunteers have made 3.5 times more phone calls than they had at the same time in the 2008 campaign. Victory volunteers have knocked on 13 times as many doors than they had at the same time in the 2008 campaign -- 4 times as many doors than the entire 2008 campaign combined. Since the national absentee and early voting turnout program began, over 108,000 volunteers have made nearly 23 million volunteer voter contacts – nearly 40 million voter contacts since Victory launched this year.
 It is because of the work of these supporters that we will have a Republican victory in 2012.

Union Members Fined If They Don’t Show Up To Support Dem. Elizabeth Warren By da Tagliare

The race for the U.S. Senate seat in Massachusetts is probably one of the hottest contests in the country, next to the presidential race.  Democrat Elizabeth Warren is trying to unseat incumbent Republican Scott Brown.  Brown stunned the state and the nation by winning the seat vacated by the death of Ted Kennedy. With their candidate’s tarnished background and reputation, the Democrats are pulling out all of the stops to drum up enough support for Warren to help her unseat Brown in November.  At the recent Warren – Brown debate in Springfield, Massachusetts, a Republican tracker began asking questions to the Warren supporters outside.  He approached one Warren supporter and asked him if he had attended the earlier debate.  In the ensuing conversation, the Warren supporter admitted that had he not attended the debate, the labor union would have fined him $150 and then later adds that the fine would have been $250 for anyone that didn’t show up.   Listen Here

Obama: ‘We Got Back Every Dime’ of Bailout; CBO: Bailout Will Lose $24 Billion By Matt Cover

President Barack Obama said on Thursday that “we got back every dime we used to rescue the financial system."  According to the Congressional Budget Office, however, the government will lose about $24 billion on the bailout. “We got back every dime we used to rescue the financial system, but we also passed a historic law to end taxpayer-funded Wall Street bailouts for good,” More lies from our President!

Steven Wynn, CEO of Wynn Resorts, said on Monday that he was sitting on his thumbs with over a billion dollars tied up because he was unsure what government program the Obama administration would unveil next, and stressed that he was "afraid of the president."

'Within 24 Hours': When U.S. Intel in Libya Told Washington 9/11/12 Was Terror Attack By Terence P. Jeffrey

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R.-S.C.), a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said on CBS's "Face the Nation" on Sunday that the U.S. intelligence community in Libya informed the administration in Washington, D.C., within 24 hours of the Sept. 11, 2012 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya that the attack had been a terrorist strike whose perpetrators included militia associated with al Qaeda.  Graham said the fact that the administration was still publicly declaring more than five days later that the attack may have arisen as a spontaneous protest indicated that either "they are misleading or incredibly incompetent." Or both!

Hillary Falls on Obama Sword

Late Monday afternoon, Elise Labott of CNN reported that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had told her that she “takes responsibility” for security problems at the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya, resulting in the murder of our ambassador and three other Americans. Clinton, who is hiding out in Peru while this blows over, took to the microphone to throw herself on the sword. She said “the buck stopped with her” when it came to the embassy, according to Labott. Labott further reported that Clinton stated, “she didn’t want to play any kind of blame game or political gotcha. She understands that the election is coming up and everyone wants to politicize this … She wants to wait for an investigation.” According to Labott, however, Clinton also blamed Congress, as well as other members of government. There’s a dual purpose for this sudden mea culpa. The first is obvious: Obama wants to end all speculation about his role in the Libyan disaster, and Hillary believes that she can take the hit and keep on trucking due to her personal popularity. The second is more subtle: Obama is losing the female vote now – Romney’s running just a point behind Obama among female likely voters according to Gallup – and he figures he can kill two birds with one stone if he can get Republicans to attack Hillary Clinton, the most popular female politician in the country, over Libya.

Did Hillary Clinton Setup Obama for Tonight’s Debate? by Gary DeMa

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has taken the blame for security lapses at our embassies. Why would she do this the day before President Obama’s second debate with Mitt Romney? It doesn’t make sense unless (1) Obama forced her to take the blame hoping he can diffuse the political damage that the embassy violence has caused to his re-election chances or (2) she wants to damage the president by coming off as more presidential. Taking the blame goes a long way politically. Her “the buck stops here” admission makes the president look small. Did she do this on purpose? Is she setting herself up for a run in 2016 by distancing herself from Obama’s blame-shifting political strategy? Did Obama make a deal with her? If she took the blame and if he wins, Joe Biden will step down as vice president and he’ll pick Hillary, setting her up as the logical choice for President in 2016.

Obama Admin Considers ‘October Surprise’ Libya Attack

Today, the Associated Press reports that “the White House has put special operations strike forces on standby and moved drones into the skies above Africa, ready to hit militant targets from Libya to Mali, if US investigators can find the al-Qaida-linked group responsible for the death of the US ambassador in Libya.” The article even mentions that the administration has to weigh “whether the short-term payoff of being able to claim retribution against al-Qaida is worth the risk that such strikes would be ineffective and rile governments in the region.” The source: three current and one former administration insiders. The Obama administration is desperate to distract the public from their mishandling of Libya: leading from behind, failing to provide for the security of our State Department personnel, and then lying about a terrorist attack resulting in our ambassador’s murder. It is no surprise that without substantial intelligence assets on the ground in Libya, the administration now seeks a military strike just three weeks out from the presidential election.

First Lady Says We’re in a Recovery and It’s All Thanks to Barack by Philip Hodges

She was asked what she thought was the state of the union. Here was her response:

"I mean, we are seeing right now that we are in the midst of a huge recovery. Right?  Because of what this president has done. Pulled this economy from the brink of collapse when we were losing 800,000 jobs a month. Now we’re gaining every — throughout most of his presidency, we’ve been adding jobs to this economy because of what he’s been doing. The stock market has doubled. Housing prices are rising. Foreclosure rates are lowering. But in the face of that, you still have people trying to convince us that things aren’t better. And that just doesn’t make sense. Now, Barack of all people knows that we still have a long way to go to completely rebuild the economy. But we’re headed in the right direction. And when you see all of that truth, it’s hard to understand why are people blocking this? Why are people talking about not raising taxes on wealthy people? Why is it that people don’t want to fight to make sure that veterans have job opportunities?" I’m sure everything looks just great from her perspective. It’s as if she’s thinking, “What’s everybody complaining about? The economy’s great. I get to go on vacations whenever I want, stay in 5-star hotels, drink fancy martinis, buy designer clothes, eat gourmet organic meals. Everything’s been great ever since we took office.”  I would have hoped the First Lady would have more class than to lie for her husband!

Could Nuclear Iran Mean Double Oil Prices ?

Oil prices could nearly double, costing the United States millions of jobs, if Iran is permitted to obtain a nuclear weapon — even if the Iranians don’t use the weapon, a new report warns.

The Bipartisan Policy Center’s report says that gasoline prices could increase by more than 70 percent, by up to $2.75 per gallon, sending inflation skyrocketing, driving America “into a severe recession,” and costing the country “more than five million jobs.” The report was written by a team of former military leaders, economists, and lawmakers. It states: “Our analysis suggests that a nuclear Iran would heighten expectation of potential future disruptions, which should translate, if understood properly, into an increased risk premium added onto oil prices for as long as the concerns and tensions remain. “In other words, anticipation of future energy oil disruption would be priced into the market, leading to higher oil and gasoline prices.”  Another "unintended consequence" of the bird brains [ not Big Bird] in the administration.

Health Insurance and Health Care; they’re not the same thing

For most people in the health policy community, the word “coverage” carries a certain emotional power. People without health insurance coverage, we believe, are one bad break away from disability and destitution. Hence, many politicians, researchers, and activists believe that expanding coverage is more important than any other policy goal. But not all health insurance is created equal. Indeed, there are tens of millions of Americans who believe they have “health insurance” who can’t get actual health care when they truly need it. If Obamacare remains the law of the land, this problem will get worse, not better.
