Daily Beast columnist warns MSNBC's Matthews that Romney will launch 'new global war' -The Left Is In A panic!
An influential columnist predicted on a Sunday news show that Mitt Romney will help launch a "new global war" if elected president. Andrew Sullivan, who writes for the Daily Beast, made the claim on Sunday's edition of the syndicated "Chris Matthews Show." Matthews also hosts the nightly commentary show "Hardball" on MSNBC. "The key difference between these two candidates is that one is going to do all he can to avoid a new war in the Middle East and the other one is going to hand over U.S. policy to Bibi Netanyahu and launch a new global war." "The key difference between these two candidates is that one is going to do all he can to avoid a new war in the Middle East and the other one is going to hand over U.S. policy to [Israeli Prime Minister] Bibi Netanyahu and launch a new global war," Sullivan said. The 49-year-old British pundit, who once branded himself as a conservative and even supported George W. Bush in his first presidential campaign, is a vocal backer of President Obama. He has been harshly critical of Israel, and in 2010 advocated U.S. military intervention to impose a two-state solution in Israel. Sullivan has been in a whirl ever since President Obama's flat debate performance against Romney Oct. 3. When Obama's poll numbers plummeted following the debate, Sullivan called it "terrifying" in his Daily Beast blog. [so they make up stories!]

'Within 24 Hours': When U.S. Intel in Libya Told Washington 9/11/12 Was Terror Attack  By Terence P. Jeffrey
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R.-S.C.), a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said on CBS's "Face the Nation" on Sunday that the U.S. intelligence community in Libya informed the administration in Washington, D.C., within 24 hours of the Sept. 11, 2012 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya that the attack had been a terrorist strike whose perpetrators included militia associated with al Qaeda.
Graham said the fact that the administration was still publicly declaring more than five days later that the attack may have arisen as a spontaneous protest indicated that either "they are misleading or incredibly incompetent." [or a cover-up] "Well, the facts are there was never a riot," Graham told Bob Schieffer of CBS News. "The night in question, September 11, Ambassador [Chris] Stevens was being visited by the Turkish ambassador. There wasn't a soul around the compound. And the coordinated attack lasted for hours with al Qaeda-associated militia.

CEO Wynn: ‘I’m Afraid of the President'  By Christopher Goins
Steven Wynn, CEO of Wynn Resorts, said on Monday that he was sitting on his thumbs with over a billion dollars tied up because he was unsure what government program the Obama administration would unveil next, and stressed that he was "afraid of the president." In an interview, Jon Ralston, host of Ralston Reports on NBC-affiliate KSNV MyNews3 in Nevada, asked Wynn: “You called him [Obama] a socialist. You called the president a socialist. And you used this memorable phrase that business leaders quote, ‘were sitting on their thumbs until he’s gone.’ But they’re not really. I mean, you’re not -- you haven’t been doing that?”  Yes I have,” Wynn said.

Gloria Steinem: In U.S., Home 'Is Single Most Dangerous Place for a Woman’ By Penny Starr
Or "Why Do Liberals Decide to Lie to Make a point?" Speaking at an event to mark the 40th anniversary of Ms. Magazine, co-founder and feminist activist Gloria Steinem said that because of domestic violence “the home in our country is the single most dangerous place for a woman” and that ending domestic violence is “the key to world peace.” “For instance, domestic violence, or original violence, has diminished somewhat, but it is true right now that if you added up all the women murdered by their husbands or boyfriends in this country since 9/11 and then took all the people killed in 9/11, all the Americans killed in Iraq and in Afghanistan, there are more women who have been murdered by their husbands and boyfriends than were collectively killed in those situations,” she said.   A few facts:  The number of people killed by terrorists in the United States on Sept. 11, 2001 was 2,977. The number of troops killed in Afghanistan total 2,125 and 4,475 in Iraq, according to the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America. That would bring the total for the attack and the two wars to 9,577 deaths. From 2001 through 2005, 5,861 women were killed by an intimate partner, according to the Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Statistics (page 90). In 2008 alone, 1.21 million male or female babies were aborted, according to the Guttmacher Institute.

Compelling Election or Last Gasp of US Representative Democracy? – Frederick Kempe/Reuters
As the U.S. prepares to vote, the world watches ... America's friends around the globe are watching the presidential elections with a mixture of horror and hope. They are dismayed by the expense, the duration and the self-indulgence of an election campaign that does more to entertain and polarize Americans than to enlighten and galvanize them. Despite that, they hope the U.S. once again will confound its critics and produce the leadership and political will to confront a historic pivot point that is as crucial as World War Two's immediate aftermath. It is obvious to me, after recent trips to the Middle East and Europe, that despite all the talk about America's decline, the world's thought leaders consider the U.S. vote in November to be of great global significance – even though much of that was absent from President Obama and Governor Romney's first debate last week.

51% Think Ambassador’s Murder Will Hurt Obama At the Polls -Rasmussen
Voters are now more critical of how the Obama administration has handled the situation in Libya, including the murder of the U.S. ambassador there, and most think it will hurt President Obama’s chances for reelection.

Ohio Coal Miners Confront Obama: ‘Why Would You Lie?’
Coal Miners’ Ad: After 4 years of decimating the coal industry with radical liberal policies, Obama is now trying to pretend he cares what happens to miners and their families. But just as his concern is a lie, so is the ad he is running to tell it. In a recent ad, Obama accuses miners of being “props” at a Romney event. The miners are standing up to Obama and demanding he stop lying about them. Why would Obama lie? Because that’s all he has.

Could Nuclear Iran Mean Double Oil Prices ?
Oil prices could nearly double, costing the United States millions of jobs, if Iran is permitted to obtain a nuclear weapon — even if the Iranians don’t use the weapon, a new report warns.  Under Obama's administration this is virtually guaranteed.  His energy policies or better yet "no fossil fuel energy" policies make this likely.  The United States has plenty of energy to become relatively independent of "unfriendly" or fragile oil supplies.  We must use the voting booth to reversed this and achieve American independence.

Country’s gas pains give Romney fuel for making domestic energy key issue
Gas prices are an ongoing concern. And the Romney campaign is circulating a three-page memo detailing the candidate’s plan to boost domestic oil production in large part by approving the Keystone XL pipeline, which would run from Canada to U.S. refineries in Texas, and opening up more areas for offshore oil drilling — including the mid-Atlantic where it is now banned.

Timeline of Libya Consulate attack reveals administration contradictions By Julian Pecquet
The following is a detailed timeline of events leading to the Sept. 11 attack and what the Obama administration has said since then.
April 5, 2011: Special envoy Christopher Stevens arrives in the rebel stronghold of Benghazi to forge ties with the forces battling Moammar Gadhafi. President Obama appoints him as ambassador to Libya on May 22, 2012.
• February: The U.S. embassy requests — and is granted — a four-month extension, until August, of a Tripoli-based “site security team” composed of 16 special forces soldiers who provide security, medical and communications support to the embassy.
• March: State Department Regional Security Officer Eric Nordstrom sends a cable to Washington asking for additional diplomatic security agents for Benghazi, later says he received no response. He does so again in July, with the same result.
• April 6: Two fired Libyan security guards throw an IED over the consulate fence.
• May 22: An Islamist attack on the Red Cross office in Benghazi is followed by a Facebook post that warns “now we are preparing a message for the Americans.” Another Facebook posting a month later highlights Stevens’ daily runs in Tripoli in an apparent threat.
• June 6: Unknown assailants blow a hole in the consulate’s north gate described by a witness as “big enough for 40 men to go through.” Four days later, the British ambassador’s car is ambushed by militants with a rocket-propelled grenade.
• July: Anti-Islam video “Innocence of Muslims” posted on You Tube.
• Aug. 14: SST team leaves Libya. Team leader Lt. Col. Andy Wood has testified that Stevens wanted them to stay on.
• In the weeks before Sept. 11, Libyan security guards are reportedly warned by family members of an impending attack. On Sept. 8, the Libyan militia tasked with protecting the consulate warns U.S. diplomats that the security situation is “frightening.”
• Sept. 10: Al Qaeda leader Ayman al Zawahiri calls on Libyans to avenge the death of his Libyan deputy, Abu Yahya al Libi, killed in a June drone strike in Pakistan.
• Sept. 11: Protesters converge on the U.S. embassy in Cairo, scale its walls and replace the U.S. flag with the Islamist banner. The protests eventually spread to 20 countries around the world. That night, Republican candidate Mitt Romney criticizes an embassy statement denouncing the video before the events unfolding in Libya are known to the world. Late that night, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says in a statement that “some have sought to justify this vicious behavior as a response to inflammatory material posted on the Internet.”
• Sept. 12: Media outlets report that Stevens and three other Americans have been killed in an attack by well-armed militants. Obama denounces an “outrageous and shocking attack” without mentioning the video or terrorism. Reuters reports for the first time that some administration officials believe the assault “bears the hallmarks of an organized attack.”
• Sept. 13: White House spokesman Jay Carney says “the protests we’re seeing around the region are in reaction to this movie.”
• Sept. 14: Carney says the administration had “no actionable intelligence” about a pending attack.
• Sept. 16: Susan Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the UN, does the rounds on the Sunday talk shows and says the video is the “proximate cause” of the assault in Benghazi. “Our current best assessment, based on the information that we have at present, is that, in fact, what this began as, it was a spontaneous — not a premeditated — response to what had transpired in Cairo,” Rice tells ABC. That same day, interim Libyan president Mohamed Magarief insists on CBS that “it was planned, definitely.”
• Sept. 19: National Counterterrorism Center director Matthew Olsen testifies before the Senate Homeland Security Committee that the assault was a “terrorist attack” but goes on to call it an “opportunistic” attack in which armed militants took advantage of an ongoing protest.
• Sept. 20: CBS reports that witnesses in Benghazi say there was no protest prior to the armed assault against the consulate. Magarief tells NBC the same thing on Sept. 26. Also on Sept. 20, Obama at a town hall meeting says: “What we do know is that the natural protests that arose because of the outrage over the video were used as an excuse by extremists to see if they can also directly harm U.S. interests.” Carney declares it “self-evident that what happened in Benghazi was a terrorist attack.” Clinton, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and Deputy Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter brief members of Congress. Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) calls it “the most useless worthless briefing I have attended in a long time.”
• Sept. 21: Clinton says “what happened in Benghazi was a terrorist attack,” highest official until then to say so.
• Sept. 25: In his address to the U.N. General Assembly, Obama doesn’t mention terrorism but makes repeated references to the video. Asked about Clinton’s statement on ABC’s “The View” show, the president skirts the issue by saying: “We’re still doing an investigation,” blames “extremist militias.”
• Sept. 27: Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta says it’s “clear that there were terrorists who planned that attack.”
• Sept. 28: The Office of the Director of National Intelligence takes responsibility for linking the Benghazi attack to the video. In a statement, spokeswoman Shawn Turner says that initially “there was information that led us to assess that the attack began spontaneously following protests earlier that day at our embassy in Cairo. “We provided that initial assessment to executive branch officials and members of Congress, who used that information to discuss the attack publicly and provide updates as they became available. Throughout our investigation we continued to emphasize that information gathered was preliminary and evolving.”
• Oct. 1: State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland says Clinton stands by Rice after House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Pete King (R-N.Y.) calls for her resignation.
• Oct. 3: FBI investigators finally arrive at the crime scene in Benghazi, which has been unsecured for weeks.
• Oct. 6: In a letter to Senate Republicans demanding an explanation for the shifting rhetoric, Rice lays the blame on the intelligence community, says she “relied solely and squarely on the information the intelligence community provided to me and other senior U.S. officials.”
• Oct. 9: Senior State Department officials for the first time acknowledge that there was never any protest in Benghazi during a background call with reporters. They say linking the attack to the video was “not our conclusion,” suggesting they’re blaming intelligence officials.
• Oct. 10: Lt. Col. Andy Wood and Eric Nordstrom testify at a House oversight committee hearing on security lapses in Libya. They say their requests for more security were denied by their superiors in Washington, testimony confirmed by cables made public by chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.).
• Oct. 11: During the vice presidential debate, Biden says, “We weren’t told they wanted more security there.” He also denies responsibility for the administration’s shifting explanation: “The intelligence community told us that. As they learned more facts about exactly what happened, they changed their assessment.”
• Oct. 12: After Republicans pounce, the White House says Biden was speaking for himself and the president because such decisions are made by the State Department.
You Decide?  Cover up or simply lousy internal communications?

Gingrich Insists Obama's Libya Cover-Up Worse Than Watergate By: Paul Scicchitano
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich blasted the Obama administration’s handling of the terrorist attack in Benghazi, tweeting that the growing scandal is bigger than Watergate. “No one died at Watergate! The Obama lies about Benghazi and Biden's deliberate lies Thursday night should be a bigger scandal than Nixon,” declared Gingrich. Gingrich said it is clear that Vice President Joe Biden was lying about the incident during Thursday’s debate with GOP vice presidential challenger Paul Ryan. “It is clear the Obama team decided to have the vice president lie about an event that killed four Americans, including an ambassador,” Gingrich tweeted. He believes that the facts surrounding the Sept. 11 terrorist strike that claimed the lives of U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three others should be a major focus of the remaining two presidential debates. “Now had over a month of dishonesty and cover-up from Obama team about Benghazi,” Gingrich wrote on Saturday. “Getting to truth should be number one goal next two debates.”

10 Facts On Unemployment
4.1 Million Fewer Jobs than Projected: In January 2009 the Obama Administration forecast there would be 137.6 million jobs in December 2010.  Instead there were 130.3 million jobs in December 2010.  Even 21 months later in September 2012, there are just 133.5 million jobs – 4.1 million fewer than the Administration’s forecast for late 2010.
2. Slower Jobs Recovery than during the Great Depression: This is the only “recovery” since World War II when jobs lost in the recession had not been recovered by this point.  In fact, the recent pace of job creation during the “Obama recovery” has been slower than during the Great Depression.
3. Less Full Time Work: Since January 2009 the number of full-time employees has fallen by over 600,000 while part-time employment has grown by almost 1.4 million.  This means part-time workers account for all of the net employment growth in the Obama years – the opposite of what Democrats predicted when they said their stimulus plan was “likely to move many workers from part-time to full-time work.”
4. Manufacturing Jobs Down: Since January 2009 over 600,000 manufacturing jobs have been eliminated, the opposite of the Administration’s projected increase of 408,000 manufacturing jobs due to their trillion-dollar stimulus.
5. Ten Times More New Dropouts than New Employees: During the Obama Administration, the number of people not in the labor force has grown by 8.2 million while total employment has grown by less than 800,000.  This means that during the Obama years new workforce dropouts have outnumbered new employees by 10 to 1.
6. Far Higher Unemployment Rate than Projected:  September’s 7.8% unemployment rate remains far above the 5.5% rate the Administration predicted for this month in their January 2009 report on the projected effects of stimulus.  Democrats actually predicted unemployment would fall to 7.8% in September 2009 – a full three years ago.
7. Real Unemployment Is Almost 11%: If the unemployment rate included the “invisible unemployed” (discouraged workers who dropped out or never joined the workforce), the September 2012 unemployment rate would be 10.9%:
8. More Unemployed Now than When Economy Was in “Free-Fall”: In September 2012 there were 12.1 million officially unemployed workers.  That’s 39,000 more than when President Obama took office in January 2009 – when the Administration said “we were in economic free-fall.”
9. Two Million More Long-term Unemployed: In September 2012 there were 4.8 million long-term unemployed (that is, for over six months) – over two million more than when President Obama took office in January 2009.
10. Economic Misery up 80%: The “Obama Misery Index” shows that unemployment and debt have risen by a combined 80% since the start of the Obama Administration.

Forcing Healthcare Professionals to Dispense Emergency Contraception Is Discriminatory
In our free and diverse nation, we hold a wide variety of religious, ethical, and political views. As a result, we hold a wide range of opinions on controversial subjects like abortion, capital punishment, and assisted suicide. Medical professionals are no different: They are free and diverse people with diverse beliefs. This means that some will be willing to participate in certain activities—preparing a lethal injection for an execution, providing abortion-inducing drugs, or prescribing chemicals to help a cancer patient kill herself—and some will not. In a free and pluralistic society, the best response to this diversity is the simplest one: live and let live. So long as they are legal, free people should be free to choose whether or not to participate in these procedures. There are many willing providers, and there is no need to force unwilling people to participate. Those who champion government-enforced orthodoxy—the idea that the government should strip people of their licenses or shut down their businesses for religious objection to performing a particular service—are out of step with our laws, which prohibit such discrimination.

Pelosi: Of Course I Read the Entire ObamaCare Bill
Now, the former Speaker has told the SF Gate's editorial board that of course she read the entire bill after being asked about her comments by conservative Debra J. Saunders. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi came to the Chronicle for an editorial board meeting Wednesday. I used the opportunity to ask Pelosi about her most famous and quoted statement from 2010. On March 9, 2010, Pelosi said of the Affordable Care Act, “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of controversy.” What did you mean by that? I asked. Pelosi said that the quote “was taken out of context” and it is most often quoted “by the far right.” The health insurance industry, she said, spent “$200 million while we were debating the bill to lie about it. … I hate to use the word lie. I hate to use the word hate. I hate to tell you, they’re lying about it.” “We’re in the trenches fighting this out,” she said. And: “We don’t even have a bill written yet. The Senate has not acted. And that really, the president really thought he was going to get a Republican vote in the Senate… You can’t say it’s in the bill, read it, ’cause there is no bill.”  Also, Pelosi said “we read the bill.”
